IMPORTANCE OF PATHYA IN AYURVEDA

Pathya, or the dietary restrictions to be followed while taking any ayurvedic medicenes is one of the peculiarities that separates ayurveda from the rest of alternative medications and allopathy. The generalised pathya that are followed presently while taking ayurvedic medicenes are, not to take oily and spicy food items, not to partake much of sour, salty and pungent food items, not to take non vegetarian food stuffs, not to stay awake during night, not to sleep during day hours, not to take excessive physical strain and the like.
In my view, all such restrictions or controls are aimed at regulating the overall metabolism of the body inorder for the medicene to be absorbed fastly and more efficiently. The pathya makes way, or clears the channels or srotasas in the body so as for the active pharmacological content of the medication to be efficiently absorbed. One universal rule in following pathya is to avoid fats, and to take  starch rich food in moderation according to ones digestive capacity or agni bala. This one pathya is particularly efficient because it reduces fat metabolism in the liver, creating more space for the starch rich kashayas and pills to be absorbed.Since ayurvedic drug is not that potent as is the allopathic drug which reaches the target cell immediately without having have to pass through the liver or the metabolism taking place only in the target cells, effective absorbtion is possible only when excessive metabolic load over the liver is withdrawn. So the pathya is all about regulating the metabolism as a whole through food control and restriction of all activities that may interfere with the metabolism.

MODI VS RAHUL

The battle for the hot seat is on. Its bjp vs congress…or modi vs rahul.Modi seems to be a worthy compititor to rahul , and in a sense , an efficient one.Modi s visionary approach , gives hope for many a Indians, who believe in one India, in bringing back India to the real place, the rural side.Rahul very much represents the urban Indian, one who cares for the facts, but he is an unused horse, with a nil track record, other than his patronage.Modi inspite of his self proclamation to be a hindu nationalist, and a blackmark of godhra massacre, has a proven track record of elevating gujarat, that being peoved by the fact that he is almost turning to be the Buddhadeb Bhattacharya of Gujarat. After the Atal bihari phenomena, bjp has finally found out its next eligible bachelor.Had some posed a challenge to Manmohan singh, his second tenure would have been doubtful. But this time, I think he would be thankful to handover the hot seat to the veteran.People would decide.

AYURVEDA, DRAWBACKS
Ayurveda has been upto an extent successful in managing with chronic life style diseases, which the patients believe has no side effects and would provide them with a better life if not the best. But inspite of enormous amounts of patients with auto immune diseases, degenerative and neurological disorders, spine related disorders coming to ayurveda from the allopathic stream of medicene, its development seems to be still in its infancy. The reason being unsystematised efforts, profit based institutions without any intentions to spread the knowledge, lack of genuine research on the subjects that need to be researched, lack of proper know how, lack of competent professionals etc. Many physicians still do carry with the same modality of cilnical diagnosis as mentioned in their texts of Susrutha, Charaka and Astanga Hrudaya with blindfolded belief, saying these where aptas and their words must not be put to introspection. The very concept of tridosa theory seems to be highly speculative to the beginner, and is enough to bog his spirits down. It does not satisfy his logic. The tri dosa theory is a working theory but who knows how to spot the dosic vitiations ? Who can spot out vata, pitta, kapha....these are just concepts intended to create an idea about the functioning of the human body. How can you treat diseases and diagnose a disease with just concepts, for arriving at a conclusion you need facts in the first place. These diagnostic tools are outdated for sure and should be abolished from the main stream. The ayurvedic concept of pathya in terms of ahara and vihara are very helpful in aiding the treatment course. They act as medicenes. Instead diagnosing a disease as vata rakta or ama vatha, one should essentially diagnose diseases in a universally accepted manner. Controls and standardisations must be brought into action to maintain a uniformity in the treatment schedules whereever ayurveda is done. For that research must be carried into that procedures which are still in practise in ayurveda that may pose harm for the body, or classify them as tretments with risk involved and use specialists only for those kind of treatments. The academics in ayurveda is just a waste of time with no use for the students, patients as well as teachers. Five and a half years of academics does not give you any idea about your profession, it does not enable you to treat a patient, you are not even able to handle even a simple case, just due to lack of confidence. The students dont know to communicate with the patients inorder to know the diseases , in which ever system they may diagnose, although they have the option to do so in allopathic way also, if not prescribe it ! Ayurveda must meet up with modern clinical standards, if it is meant in curing a disease. Then only can Ayurveda can gain some authenticity.

SACHIN-A PHENOMENA

Years back there was the tsunami which struk havoc in the east coast, a tsunami that sturk the world a quarter of a century back, brought nightmares to even the bowlers who bombarded the pitch at devils pace. He was like an angel, the crickets own sweet child. Controlled agression, letting the bat do the talk!
Critics of him were not heard. The story very much a fancy tale.He is one in a billion.Nobody would be able to match this batting maestro. He was touted the bradman next.Cricket gained from this gentleman, earned its respect, inspite of several scams involving the match fixing and spot fixing. Cricket became popular round the world which has evolved now to t20.

Not much of a match winner he was, he was known for his innings, the records he broke. An average captain he was, but his presence was signified , he has scored around 30,000 odd runs for india, that too at a time when India was just an average team.India now has talents, galore, but none has made impact amongst the masses as was sachin.
