Will future of Ayurveda be restricted to wellness alone ?

This is a prime concern, as till now no pathbreaking studies has been conducted by India or Kerala to bring out Ayurveda as a competitior to Modern medicine throughout the world. Apart from INDIA, no other country recognises it as a health system for treating diseases, but as a wellness advisory only. When ksharasutra, or the only surgical remedy in practice in ayurvedic system, that too with the help of modern tools/instruments, is being recognised even by the IMA in INdia, no other treatment modalities such as panchakarma , jalooka or others are accepted by them. There is no use by the NHM to put Dhanwanthari as the lord of Medicine in its logo, as Ayurveda itself doesnt mention about him in its texts. Dhanwanthari is just like Charak or Sushrutha, another school of thought. Dhanwanthari was even senior to Sushrutha in surgery, that the latter can be considered his disciple. That being the case Ayurveda is wrongly considered as a divine interference in medicinal feild, just as an extension to astrology and other religious practises. Some Ayurvedic hospital do make business out of religion by operating temples side by side a hospital. Such practises dont go noticed in this era and will stamp ayurveda not as a science but only as a ritual, without any science. Nobody, even ayurveda doctors treat by dosic evaluation. The right way must begin from the academics where instead of byhearting slokas, we must be taught researches.
